Help the Icenogle family in their time of grief and loss

Hello friends. I first met Kris Icenogle over 8 years ago at a Montessori parent meeting when she was extremely pregnant with her youngest daughter and I was brand new to the Gilpin Community. It wasn't long before I was joining her for weekly coffee dates, and getting in as much snuggle time with baby Maybel as I could. In the time since Kris and her family have become like family to me . . . . as she has to so many residents of Gilpin County, many of whom have known her much longer. She is short, snarky, and feisty, and she will tell it like it is to your face, but she also has the biggest heart, and will go to hell and back for her friends and family. She and her family have given so much to their friends and the Gilpin Community over the years both in time and money. Now it is time for us to give back to them.
On Wednesday, April 17th, Kris's husband of nearly 29 years, James, her rock, died suddenly while on a business trip in Washington DC. He was an amazing husband, father, and pillar of his community who worked tirelessly on the road during the week to support them all, and still came home every weekend to be with his family. He always had a smile and a laugh for anyone who crossed his path.
His daughter Lynda will graduate from Gilpin County HS in May and plans to attend Colorado School of Mines in the Fall, his daughter Maybel is just 8 years old and is in the Elementary Montessori program at Gilpin. With his passing comes future financial worries since he was the primary provider of income for the family, as well as the immediate financial burdens of burial and memorial services. He was a veteran of the Army and his family hopes that he will be laid to rest in Arlington cemetery alongside his grandfather. They are also planning a memorial service in Gilpin County for all his friends, and in Georgia for his parents and family.
Please help ease the financial burden for this beautiful family by giving whatever you are personally able. Funds raised beyond the cost of funeral and memorial expenses (travel expenses included) will go towards the girls' college funds.
Please see the Tribute to James with memorial information and other ways you can honor him here:
