Help the Jarrett Family

Hi, my name is Jenna and I started this fundraiser to help my sister, my niece, and my nephew. My family has recently suffered a devastating tragedy that we are still trying to process.

On August 30, my brother-in-law,

Scott, was on his way home from work. He was riding his motorcycle and was hit by a car. Despite wearing a helmet, Scott sustained severe head trauma and multiple other injuries. He was airlifted to the hospital where he has been in the ICU for weeks. Sadly, the doctors have told my sister that her husband has no brain function and will never wake up. Though he remains earth-side at this time, Scott has been removed from life support.

Scott, or Dr. Scott, as his clients call him, is a veterinarian and the sole provider for my sister and their children. My sister, Sara, is a stay home mom and full time caretaker to my nephew, William, who is 13 and profoundly autistic. He is nonverbal and unable attend school, requires routine therapy at home and will need long term care for the rest of his life. My niece, Elizabeth, is 16. She is an honor student and plans to attend college to become a special education teacher.

This has been a nightmare for my family- William does not understand where his father went and due to his disability, he never will. Therapy for William is partially covered under Scott’s insurance, which will end soon. The cost of Scott’s medical care is quickly adding up as well.

My brother-in-law is one of the nicest people I've ever known. He loves animals and he loves his family. His kids have been his whole world and I can't even begin to imagine how their lives will be without their dad. I don't know how my

sister is going to manage without her husband. She will be on her own with a special-needs child and very few options for income. Our family will do anything we can to help her, but I am pleading for your help, as I fear it will not be enough.
