Help The Jordans After Losing Their Home

Donation protected
Our cousins Carrie, Pascha, Molly (12), and Kenley (7) Jordan discovered on Thursday that they lost their sweet Altadena home and everything in it to the Eaton Fires. While the whole family (and their three beloved indoor/outdoor cats) is safe, the house, all of their furniture, possessions, and most beloved keepsakes are gone. They have a long, long road ahead of them. We started this fundraiser to provide family, friends, and others a way to help.

Carrie and Pascha were away in Colorado for a work training seminar on Tuesday when all of this began; the girls were staying in the house with their Bubbie Barbara while their parents were gone. Though the evacuation orders had not yet been called, the fire was spreading, and the winds were so loud and strong that they could not sleep. Nearby family had called and urged them to get out of there ASAP.

Around 9:30 pm on Tuesday night, they finally agreed to leave. Barbara, who raised her family in Altadena and Pasadena and had been through many wildfire seasons before, could not fathom the fire spreading all the way down to the house. She told the girls to each pack one bag with the items they cared about most and everything they’d need for the next day, assuming they would be back. Molly packed extra sets of clothes, her schoolbooks, and her piggy bank. Kenley packed her backpack full of stuffed animals.

They evacuated to Barbara’s house in South Pasadena. The next day, Carrie and Pascha jumped on a plane back to LA, not knowing if their house was still standing. On Thursday, they walked 1.5 miles into the evacuation zone to reach what was their house and took in the fact that their entire home, the only one the girls had ever known, was gone.

The family is staying in a hotel in Pasadena for the next week while they look for temporary housing and sort out how and when they will rebuild their home. They are lucky to be surrounded by family and friends in the area doing everything they can to help, but are still without a home to go back to, and their neighborhood is in shambles.

We know that any and all donations will help the Jordan family breathe easier during this time. Thank you.
