Help the kids from Kilutori School in Kenya
Donation protected
We are raising money for a school project that was recently started in a small community called Kilutori, located in Southern Kenya. The school was started by local safari guide Anthony Olempikas as a means of providing children in the local community with access to education for the first time. Anthony had a difficult route through his education journey, but with hard work, dedication and help from his community he made it through to becoming an accomplished safari guide in the Masai Mara. It is now his dream to provide the kids from his community with easier access to education and the opportunity to take a hold of their future.
Anthony has started the school with his own money and some small donations. The kids come from very impoverished families who cannot afford to pay school fees and the school do not receive any form of external funding. The project relies solely on Anthony and donations to survive. For these children the idea of education was only a dream before this project began, now these kids can have hope for a brighter future but they need our help.
The school started with 50 kids, but now there are more than 200 kids with the number potentially increasing next term. As a result of this Anthony and the school are facing many challenges that prevent them from developing this project and helping these kids further on their journey. In particular they are having a very hard time in paying for vital supplies and also with the funds required to pay staff their salaries. The school offers a food programme to all of its students and they are finding it difficult to provide every child with enough food. The accommodation facilities are extremely basic and inadequate for the number of children at the school, there is not enough space nor enough basic mattresses for the number of kids that require boarding. They have very limited school supplies, and they are particularly lacking in books, stationary, desks and chairs. Some children have no choice but to sit on the dirt floor in class. They do not have adequate kitchen facilities, access to clean water or any electricty.
This incredible project needs our help, and it needs it urgently. The school will be starting a new term soon and they need financial help as soon as possible. Please help this project which is absolutely vital to the future of this community, and has the potential to touch so many lives in a positive way.
From the bottom of our hearts and on behalf of the entire community of Kilutori we would appreciate any donations that are received. The positive impact of your help will be forever lasting.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help this inspiring cause.
