Help the Knott Family with Flood Damages

Hello! My name is Brittany and I’m trying to raise some funds to help my grandparents, Leonard and Annette Knott, who have been seriously impacted by the recent storm on Tuesday, Jan. 9th, 2024.

Anyone who knows my grandparents, know they would do anything for anyone; they love children and helping people. Mr. Leonard (82), also known as “Pappy” to friends and family, is retired from working for The Sun paper, after 54 years. Mrs. Annette (79), also known as “Gammy” ran a licensed Daycare out of her home for 45 years and is now retired as well. They are still paying on their home that they have welcomed everyone into with love and acceptance over so many years.

That very home was flooded on Tuesday, and all their belongings and memories, as well as necessary appliances, have been impacted by the flood. Their entire basement was more than 12” underwater. Their insurance does NOT cover flooding; therefore nothing can be done without having income. They are currently without heat. They are heating the house with a bunch of space heaters, so their electric bill is going to be ridiculously high. Luckily, by the good grace of a long time family friend, they will have a new furnace on Tuesday. But their sump pump can’t keep up and needs to be replaced, and the entire basement will be moldy if nothing is done. Their washer and dryer were also affected and do not work.

If there is anything you could donate, any and all funds are appreciated! This money would go toward a new sump pump, washer and dryer, and hopefully a dumpster so we can get all of the destroyed belongings out of there and get everything nice and dry again. It will also help with their electrical costs of keeping the house warm this week.
