Help The Kroupa Family Get Rolling Again

The short: my sister Lily is a superhero mom and caretaker for her entire family that lives with numerous disabilities, especially her 5 year old son in hospice.

The other day her car caught fire which means she is no longer able to take them to medically essential appointments, school or be ready for the constant looming emergency.

We would like to raise enough so she can get back on the road and get back to taking care of those she loves.

The much longer version: my sister Lily is an amazing mom who never gets a break and seldom complains that she needs one. Her 5 year old son lives with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Noonan's Syndrome and had open heart surgery when he was 2 months old. Due to pulmonary hypertension is unfortunately not a "good candidate" for a heart transplant.

Her daughter, 12, was born with cataracts and had surgery at 7 to have a false lens installed in one eye. She has severe depth perception problems and some learning disabilities that require her to attend a special school some distance away, beyond what the bus can usually accommodate in our rural area.

Her husband is completely blind and has lived with Type 1 diabetes since he was 6 and is insulin dependent.

Lily herself has the same heart condition as her son (genetic) to a certain degree. As such certain jobs are physically beyond her and even if she could find one that met those needs- she's needed at home to keep things running smoothly, take care of meds, run all the errands and everything else a mother does to keep the world turning.

Because they live on disability, only $16k a year, they don't have anything left over they can save and tend to live week to week as best they can. They are using all state provided resources but there is nothing that's going to help them get another vehicle.

I watched Lily save for over a year and a half to get her used little Subaru and then scrimp and save and even sell cherished belongings so she could keep it running month after month. At the same time she's been working tirelessly to help others, including myself as I go through medical care.

She gives so much and asks for so little.

I want to raise this money for her so she can focus on herself and her family and make the most out of every single day with her son instead of worrying about how she's going to get from place to place.
