Help the KU equestrian team get to regionals!

The KU Equestrian Team is a quickly growing club sport at the University of Kansas. We are a group of passionate young riders dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for our riders to bond, grow and achieve all their goals. We are also an actively competing IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) team in Zone 7 region 5.

While the team has been wavering for about a decade, in the last two years we have nearly tripled in size! We have 20 riders on our roster this year! We have also made our new home at ZeZe Equine with our coaches Alex Gill and Lauren Sedorcek. Our team practices weekly, travels to shows about once a month and we meet every few weeks for team bonding activities and dinners.

Unlike some collegiate sports, our equipment costs are pretty unique! All of our riders have to pay for weekly lessons, riding attire, show attire, show fees, travel costs and more. These things are disproportionately more expensive than most sports. Unfortunately, the team does not receive funding from the university to help with these expenses. IHSA was created on the basis of making the equestrian sport accessible to any college student, no matter their skill level, experience, or their financial status.

Following in line with the mission of IHSA, we are asking for donations of any size to remove the financial burden (as much as possible) for our riders.Your donation will contribute to the cost of show fees, travel expenses, and team apparel, but most importantly, you are supporting the KU riders growth and ability to reach their goals. No matter how much or little you contribute, you are helping our team continue to compete at the collegiate level and putting the team one step closer to compete this year at Regionals (and hopefully Zones and Nationals)!!
