Please Help The Kumar Family

Dear Friends and Family,

With hearts heavier than ever imagined possible, we find ourselves reaching out for support and care for our late Ravinder Kumar - a loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend.

On February 8, 2024, Ravinder arrived to Toronto with his wife, Saroj, to begin their journey in Canada. Ravinder had tremendous dreams and aspired to establish a beautiful future for his wife and children, however his life unfortunately took an unexpected turn.

Just 12 days after landing in Canada, Ravinder began to experience abdominal pain, and on February 20, he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Humber River Hospital with gallstones. Shortly after, Ravinder was diagnosed with necrotizing pancreatitis, a serious medical problem in which a part of the pancreas dies due to inflammation or injury.

Unfortunately, Ravinder’s health began to deteriorate and he spent 88 days at Humber River Hospital, between the Intensive Care and Inpatient Surgery Unit. Tragically, Ravinder passed away on May 23, at the young age of 44, leaving behind his wife , Saroj and two children, aged 11 and 12.

Ravinder and Saroj, who arrived to Canada as refugees with scarce funds, we’re unable to work due to the unfortunate circumstances. Throughout Ravinder’s entire hospitalization, Saroj never left her husband’s side and stayed beside him through every moment to aid in his recovery. Regrettably, Ravinder’s passing has placed major difficulties on Saroj, who remains in Canada without any family or financial support. Furthermore, Saroj remains without a place of dwelling and accessibilities to essentials.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will help reduce the financial struggle during this exceptionally difficult time. Your efforts will assist Saroj to get back on her feet and begin the process of obtaining shelter, acquiring essentials, and sponsoring her children to Canada.
