Help the Lasocki Family

My name is Konrad. Piotr Lasocki was my dad. On Saturday, June 17th, I got the call no one expects or wants to receive. "Come to your parents' place as soon as possible."

I called my sister, Ola. We had to go now.

That morning, our dad had gone for a walk alone with the dog and never came back. He was found around the Rice Lake area by other hikers who immediately called 911 after feeling no pulse. By the time paramedics arrived, it was already too late. He had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. He had no known pre-existing conditions. We thank those that found him, the first responders, and everyone at Lions Gate Hospital for doing everything they could to bring our dad back.

We are stunned. It all doesn't seem real. He was 66. Still working hard to support those around him. He will be missed by many, but we know he would want everyone to celebrate his life rather than mourn his death. All he wanted for others and himself was a life free of worries, and we’re certain he’s now sharing all his stories, kindness, and wisdom someplace else, worry-free. His spirit lives on in the North Shore mountains that he loved so much.
