Help The Lead continue our mission
Donation protected
We have distributed newspapers across 11 places in the North of England ahead of polling day to encourage marginal, left behind communities to vote for progressive change.
A total of 200,000 newspapers were delivered.
We reached homes in Blackpool, Bolton, Stoke-on-Trent, Teesside, Hyndburn, Warrington, Altrincham & Sale, Bury, Burnley, Rossendale and Lancashire.
You helped us do that.
Our mission at The Lead North has always been to shift the focus from London and bring underreported stories to the UK's overlooked cities and towns, placing our campaigning journalism at the heart of these communities.
We believe in the social value of independent, local media.
Yet, over the past 14 years of a Conservative government, the local news industry has become ever more fragile.
Together with local journalists and outlets, we want to keep local journalism alive.
Can you help us continue our mission? We need to raise £2,500 to print more newspapers, reach more people and continue bringing unreported stories to communities in the North of England after the election is won.
Each £5 donation prints enough papers to reach 50 households.
Each one reaches one.
