Help The Liberation Foundation Reach its Goal

Tax deductible
Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages generosity to help people and organizations transform their communities. This #GivingTuesday I want to share a fundraising opportunity to support The Liberation Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to advocating for wrongfully convicted Pennsylvanians.

A message from TLF Founder, Terrance Lewis:

Dear Friend,

My name is Terrance Lewis, and I was 17 when I was wrongfully accused and convicted of second degree murder and sentenced life in prison. I spent over 21 years wrongfully incarcerated before being exonerated by the Conviction Integrity Unit of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and released on May 21, 2019. While I was incarcerated, I dreamt of founding The Liberation Foundation, an organization that would provide support to people who were wrongfully incarcerated like myself.

In April 2020, less than a year after my release, I created the Terrance Lewis Liberation Foundation (aka The Liberation Foundation), a Philadelphia-based 501c-3 non-profit with the mission to advocate for wrongfully convicted Pennsylvanians by connecting them to legal services. The Liberation Foundation provides incarcerated Pennsylvanians with support as they navigate the pro se process.

This Giving Tuesday we are asking you to help The Liberation Foundation meet its end of the year goal of raising $1,500. Funds raised for The Liberation Foundation go towards helping us advocate for incarcerated individuals and providing administrative and investigative support to attorneys.

In August, TLF partnered with Attorney Troy Crichton to help free Jehmar Gladden , who had been wrongfully convicted and incarcerated for more than 24 years. Now, The Liberation Foundation seeks to expand that model, taking on more wrongful conviction and disproportionate sentencing claims and matching clients with legal representation.

With your support, we will be able to change the lives of the wrongfully incarcerated, helping to provide them with the greatest gift of all: freedom. I hope that you will consider supporting this holiday season as we continue our fight to aid wrongfully-convicted Pennsylvanians.

Sincerely,

Terrance Lewis
