Help the Lindquists through Ian's Treatment
Donation protected
Dear friends,
Since we have found out about Ian's diagnosis, we have unexpectedly received over $20,000 in donations through the meal train donations, financial gifts in the mail, and Venmo. We can't thank you all enough for your generosity. We didn't realize how many costs would come up with a hospital stay and in order to keep the kids so well loved through this time. We have had more than enough funds for extra hospital meals, blankets, and clothes for Ian through the chemo, extra housekeeping expenses for the next few months, flights for family to come to help with the kids, and other extra expenses that have resulted from this crisis. We have more than enough to get us comfortably through the next few months.
We found out this week, Ian's treatment will be much longer than we had initially hoped. Ian is up for the fight, but it will be a very long one. The bone marrow transplant is a very quick procedure, but will require Ian and his caregiver, Kelly and then Lisa (Ian's mom), to more than likely move closer to the hospital for the next three-four months to monitor Ian's brand new immune system. It will also require Kelly and Ted (Ian's dad) to take care of the kids, without Ian and Lisa, as Kelly gets closer to giving birth in August. Ian will also have to be more secluded at home for the 6 months to 2 years after the bone marrow transplant while his immune system develops.
We have depended on family and friend's help from far and wide with the children, but eventually we will need a more stable person to help with childcare. To make things easier on everyone, we are hoping to get a full-time live in nanny for the coming year.
Given all of these unexpected expenses for the next year, and that people have continued to ask how they can help, we are setting up this gofundme. It is very important to us that everyone know that we are so grateful for all the help people have given and do not expect more. We want to give other people who have asked a place to help, but we also don't want anyone to feel obliged. Also we want to be very clear, that the best help you have and can give us is your prayers. They are what is sustaining us through this time of need more than anything else.
Thank you.
Love,
The Lindquist Family
