Help The Lonergans Get Through a Rough Time

Donation protected
Our household has had a very eventful Christmas Break.

Good news first:

Our name came up on the waitlist for a very affordable 3 bedroom apartment that’s in our preferred neighborhood near the kids’ schools. Unfortunately, we would have to pay a $3000 penalty to break our current lease. It’s absolutely worth it in the long run. The kids would have their own rooms, we would be two minutes away from school and work, and it’s a much safer neighborhood. Plus the rent is about half what we’re paying now.

Now the bad news:

My car was broken into on the 29th. It looks like they were trying to steal it but the alarm scared them off. The back window is smashed and the steering column is ripped apart. Unfortunately, we switched to a liability only policy a little while ago to try to save money, so insurance will not cover it. It still runs, but obviously driving around without a window in January is not ideal. Also it can be started with a pair of pliers, so replacing the ignition switch is also a priority.

Now the ask:

If you know me, you know I HATE asking for help. But here we are, so close to having it just a little bit easier, and we need a push. Anything you can contribute would be hugely appreciated. If you have no dollars, which is a situation I have been in many times, sharing this post would be a huge help.

Thank you, Love you, Happy 2024!
