Help the Lynch Family Heal
Donation protected
On 4/18/2022, Rowan Lynch (18), current resident of Putney, VT suffered severe and life altering injuries, after being hit as a pedestrian by a driver who has since been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Gross Negligent Operation & Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Rowan will need extensive and ongoing medical care to heal from this devastating event, which left him with a traumatic brain injury, significant damage to his pelvic region and legs, requiring surgery to insert a metal rod into his fractured femur, multiple broken ribs and a punctured lung. In addition to ongoing medical help to care for the physical damage sustained by Rowan’s body, both he and his brother Caleb (16)–who watched as Rowan was struck and pinned between vehicles before being airlifted by helicopter–need mental health support after this traumatic event. His mother, Jenn Lynch, native of Scituate, MA, desperately needs financial assistance to pay for Rowan’s medical treatment and rehabilitation and needs to take an extended leave of absence from work to care for him during his recovery. The area of Vermont where she currently lives can not provide the additional care Rowan now needs after being a victim of this crime which resulted in his extensive injuries. Jenn and her boys would benefit greatly from a temporary or permanent move back to her native Massachusetts, where they can be surrounded by the love and support of friends and family, as well have greater access to the quality care that her children need to heal during this difficult time. Jenn has dedicated her life and career to the care of other vulnerable individuals, currently working as a residential coordinator for a Therapeutic Community Residence home for adults with persistent mental health issues and disabilities, and previously as a behavioral interventionist for an autistic child and a pre-K teacher for a Head Start program. This type of work is highly valuable to society, but not highly paid. Unfortunately, because of Rowan’s age, Jenn cannot receive Family Medical Leave. Jenn now needs to be on the receiving end of the care that she has always shown to the world, and experience the compassion of others as she faces the difficult and costly journey of healing her family.
