Help the MacLeod family fight leukaemia
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Paige and I am making this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Ashley and her soon-to be husband Rob.
This past month has been an absolute whirlwind for this little family, while Rob was working in Alberta he was hospitalized and diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukaemia. Ashley had just begun her maternity leave as she is due with baby #2 in August so she was able to be with him while he’s been hospitalized in AB. In the up coming weeks they will be discharged from Alberta and head back to Manitoba to continue his treatment as he will need a bone marrow transplant. They will need to continue treatment in Winnipeg which is 5+ hours away from their home in Ol Minitonas Manitoba.
Any donation to help this family get through these next months so all Ashley and Rob have to worry about is getting better, beating cancer and having a baby would mean so much.
donations can be made through here, by etransfer to [email redacted] or by cheque to Swan Valley Credit Union located in Swan River Manitoba.
Update:
Those of you who know us, know we can never catch a break in this crazy world.
after 3 gruelling months of intensive chemo Rob made significant progress that we needed in order ti start the process of getting him a stem cell transplant. We were able to head back to Manitoba to prepare for the arrival of our new baby in June. We went in July 11th as I was in labour annnnd unfortunately I ended up rupturing and was rushed for an emergency cesarean. BIGGEST shout out to Dr.Pennarowski and her labor and delivery team at Dauphin, because without her , my daughter wouldn’t have been saved, nor do I think I’d be here to tell the story.
After 4 long weeks in the Nicu with our daughter we were finally able to go home and enjoy our last month together before Robert had to be admitted for more chemo.
InAugust we received the news that they had found Robert a perfect match and he would be receiving his stem cell transplant on August 27.
Im so emotional typing this update because we didn’t know if he’d even get to meet our little girl, let alone have him here spending Christmas as a whole this year.
We are 3 months post transplant and although he still has a lot of very rough days, everything is going perfectly according to our oncology team.
Both Robert and I want to thank each and every person who has donated , shared , or simply sent us words of encouragement during this.
My Husband is on the road to kicking Leukaemias ass! And our youngest is absolutely thriving.
we love you all❤️
