Help the Mahaffey’s with Medical expenses

Donation protected
On Sunday, September 5th, while in his mothers arms, my eight day old nephew John Mahaffey stopped breathing and his heart suddenly stopped. His father and his grandmother attempted CPR. He was transported via ambulance to the first hospital and then quickly airlifted to Egleston in an attempt to save his life. They were able to get his heart started again and he was placed on a ventilator. For the next few days we were on our knees praying for a miracle. After a period of time, the doctors let us know that he had no upper, middle, or lower brain activity due to a devastating loss of oxygen. He was legally declared dead on Wednesday, September 8 at 1:34 PM. We were completely devastated. Mason and Melissa (his mother and father) made the brave decision to donate any of his organs that were deemed medically viable. As a result of this, a six month old baby received John’s heart and a new chance at life. Our entire extended families are walking this journey with them. Mason and Melissa are relying on God to give them the strength that they need to face each day as they grieve the loss of their baby boy. Because of this devastating situation, they are facing insurmountable medical bills. We are trying to help at least ease some of their financial burden. They are clinging to the hope that they have in Christ our Savior that they will see John again one day! Thank you so much for considering helping in anyway you feel led. Please keep them in your prayers!
