Help the Marmol Family rebuild after Eaton Fire

Support The Marmol Family after Eaton Fire

Please help Amy and Joshua Marmol, along with their 3 children Corban (12), Jude (9.5), and Eden (5) financially, as they lost everything when the Eaton fire exploded on Tuesday night.

Our hearts are broken as the Eaton Fire in Southern California has hit close to home with one of our dearest and nearest friends. The dry conditions and up to 100mph Santa Ana winds combined to create multiple devastating wildfires that are now confirmed to have destroyed over 2000 structures within two days.

With Joshua still at work at 7pm, their home lost power so Amy started putting the children to bed using just a phone flashlight, when she received a late message from other friends who had already evacuated. Amy looked outside then and saw that the sky was orange.

In less than 5 minutes, she grabbed the kids, phone chargers, water, important documents, and the family dog, Kona. She checked on their elderly neighbor, then got in their car and left. She and Joshua, who was on his way home from work, met up and fled together, leaving their second car behind. As they drove away, they could see the mountain on fire. They were able to board their dog last minute, and drove to Orange County where they’ve been staying with Amy’s aunt and uncle since.

Unfortunately, they have received confirmation that the house they were renting has been destroyed. Photos show the unfathomable loss of both their home and their entire neighborhood. The photos confirmed our worst fears that all of the Marmol family’s worldly possessions were lost in the fire.

Anyone lucky enough to know Joshua and Amy also know that they are some of the best people in the world. Genuinely kind, helpful, considerate, selfless, highly intelligent, funny, talented, and incredibly involved in their community.

Amy is a French teacher at Pasadena High School and Joshua is a self employed barber in Silverlake, and moving on from this huge loss will be a long, slow process. The boys’ schools were also severely damaged in the fire, so every aspect of their lives has been affected.

We are setting up this Go Fund Me so anyone who sees this can help get this incredible family back on their feet as they pick up the pieces left behind in the ash. They left literally everything behind when they evacuated and will be starting again from scratch. All five of them will need clothing, shoes, and basic living essentials, as well as furniture, appliances and electronic devices moving forward as they settle elsewhere.

We are so grateful that the Marmols made it out of the fire unharmed physically, and we know their story is unfortunately not unique following this horrible disaster, but anything you can give will go towards helping this sweet family feel some sort of normalcy again as they rebuild their lives.

While the desire to give physical gifts is appreciated, at this time monetary donations will be the most efficient way to make sure they have the essentials.

This GoFundMe is being created to help the Marmol Family rebuild as much as possible. All funds will be transferred to them. Thank you for helping.
