Help the Mason family get back on their feet
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
It is hard to put into words just how devastating the flooding has been for so many across the state of Vermont. While it has been truly heartbreaking, our community comes together time and time again to lend a hand and aid those in need. For this reason, I am humbly asking for help for my parents, Doug and Rhoda Mason.
I was woken up a little after 5am on Tuesday, July 11th, 2023 (my father's 78th birthday) to text messages that my parent's home of 40+ years in Barre, VT, had collapsed. A landslide violently pushed the house right off the foundation by about 10-15 feet as my parents sat in the living room waiting out the storm.
Thanks to the heroic efforts of the Barre Fire Department, my parents and their dog miraculously made it out relatively unhurt, being extracted through a window on the side of the house. Our family will be forever grateful to them.
Unfortunately, their home, and virtually everything in it, is a total loss with very little hope to recover anything.
They are some of the most kind and generous people I know. Countless family members and friends can attest to what truly good people they are. On behalf of our entire family, I thank you for any donation you might make to help them get back on their feet after this disaster.
