Please Help the McIntyres

Hi there, my name is Katie and I am fundraising on behalf of the McIntyre family.
On Saturday September 7th, 2024, tragedy struck the McIntrye’s as Kyle was involved in a catastrophic near death crane incident on his work site in Victoria, BC.
Kyle has been working in his field for many years, is well seasoned in safety and protection at work.
On Saturday, while lifting well over 3000lbs of formworks, tragedy struck. The forms fell from approximately 10 feet (luckily) however, as Kyle is a rigger, he was directly below and despite his best efforts, was slammed into the concrete by the materials.
Kyle lost consciousness, has a head laceration and thankfully just a concussion (way to go hard hats) however his left leg was not so lucky. Being severely crushed, and eventually losing blood flow, shortly after arrival to hospital Kyle underwent near 7 hours of surgery just to stabilize the limb.
Doctors concluded it’s been saved - for now - but Kyle may need many surgeries to follow to reconstruct his leg and his knee, along with rehab and learning to use his leg again.
Doctors cannot guarantee how much mobility he will regain. This is going to be a long, slow, emotional process.
Kyle is the (most incredible) father of 3 girls, and 1 son. He has a beautiful, loving wife Nancy who has been having to drive over an hour from Duncan where they live, to the hospital to be by his side throughout this and then returning back home late at night after driving another hour and a bit. Their youngest child is still in elementary school, so Nancy has been left juggling getting her to school, cooking meals, cleaning, driving up and down the island, and trying to take care of her husband as well as her own wellbeing during this tragic time for the family.
On a personal note; this family has done more for myself and others, out of nothing but pure love and desire to help, than I can put into words. Kyle and Nancy are my child’s godparents, and without them, our lives would be significantly empty. They have never asked for help, and have always been the first there to offer a hand to anyone in need.
With loss of Kyle’s significant income, the likelihood he will never be able to return to work in this field, and all the other added financial stress this beautiful family is having to face right now (gas, quick meals, bills, etc.) I am asking for help from you. $5 goes a long way, so does a share or a like of this gofundme. This family would never ask for it themselves, and I hate to think of the fact that they need to suffer more at this time.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this and for your generosity, love & kindness during this sensitive and difficult time.
With Love;
