Hi! I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friends the McMurrays. If you’ve been to a skatepark or BMX dirt jumps around Colorado -or- rocked out to their family band, The Temper Tantrums – you’ve seen their beloved American Bulldog mix, June.
On Nov. 15th, five-year-old June suffered a devastating stroke (FCE) which has left her rear legs paralyzed. While June isn’t in pain, her world and the McMurray's has changed dramatically.
But there is hope! Through physical therapy and assistive devices such as a harness and doggie wheelchair (of course this BMX family has put their girl on wheels!) she may gain back some mobility. Most improvements happen in the first three weeks after the stroke.
The McMurrays are fighting alongside June to give her a chance at recovery!
Thanks to lots of determination, she’s already showing signs of hope—moments of putting weight on her back legs and playing with Beau, her Basset Hound friend, in her wheelchair.
Troy, Sam, Vada, and Mary are not ready to give up on June. They’ve never been able to give up on June – from the moment they met the timid dog at the Dumb Friends League. June was scared of everyone, severely limiting her chances of adoption. I can just hear Vada and Mary’s plea: Please! Can we give her a chance?! They adopted June that day and she’s been a cherished member of the family ever since.
Now, June needs another chance. The McMurrays are pouring their hearts into giving June the best care possible, but the unexpected expenses—vet bills, doggie diapers, wheelchair, harness, physical therapy — are a heavy financial burden.
I’m asking you to join me in easing their load during this difficult time. Your donation, no matter the size, will help cover the cost of June’s care and equipment. And give the McMurrays the peace of mind to focus on what matters most: giving June every opportunity to heal and adapt.
The reality is, we don’t know if June will fully recover. If her quality of life doesn’t improve, the McMurrays may face the heartbreaking decision to let her go with dignity and love.* But this hard-headed bulldog is not giving up without a fight—and neither is her family of rockstars!
Let’s come together to show Troy, Sam, Vada, and Mary that they’re not alone in this journey. Together we can lift them up with our love, support, and generosity.
With gratitude,
Ashley Seymour

*If they must make the heartbreaking decision to let June go, the McMurrays plan to donate June’s equipment and any unused funds to the Dumb Friends League, the shelter where they found their sweet Junie girl!
