Hello- As some of you may know, my brother in-law Michael has spent his life in and out of the hospital due to heart complications since birth. He has had several heart surgeries throughout his life, one being heart reconstructive surgery when he was 18. Unfortunately, upon completion of that surgery, the main artery was damaged, causing him to need a pacemaker to rectify that damage. Since then, it has been an uphill battle for him. Over the past month, Michael felt ill, and after seeing his primary doctor, he was sent to Stanford Hospital for treatment for a bacterial infection found in his bloodstream (septic). After days in the hospital and the unknown of how bad the infection was, what the cause of the infection was, and what would be needed to make Michael well, the conclusion was; that the bacteria had made its way to the heart valve and pacemaker. Michael will need to have the pacemaker replaced but is lucky enough to be able to go home and fight this infection through an IV port that will administer the antibiotics he needs while he rests. The downside is that Michael will be home and unable to work for a few months. He has three children, two who are very young and all who need their dad for a very long time. Michael being the man he is, has spent his time in the hospital concerned for his family. Michael is never one to ask for help, so we are all asking for him. Please help us support Michael during this challenging time. These funds will go towards bills and medical necessities. Every dollar will help!
