Help 'The Minds We Had' Reach Festivals

'The Minds We Had' is an original feature length film written by sam lucas and directed by Danielle Silkes. The film takes place on a November night in 2011. 6 friends gather for a party at Cynthia’s house during their Thanksgiving break of various college years. Having all known each other for quite some time, there is much history, and much drama to gab about. As the party gets going, they each begin to realize that something is not quite right. Whether that be the nature of their friendships, the inevitable fact that they are all growing apart, or maybe something much more sinister. A coming of age comedy with an unexpected twist, “The Minds We Had” fleshes out all these concepts in a personified coming of age comedy. Concepts like the fabric of trust, deciding which battles are worth fighting, and personal struggle are all hilariously explored, as these 6 friends recall a night that changed everything for them.
(Content Warnings: substance abuse, murder, parental abuse, intimacy, infidelity, suicidal thoughts, sexual content, abortion, eating disorders)
We are currently in the process of submitting ‘The Minds We Had’ to film festivals! This project was entirely self-funded, which was a major expense. The festivals also come at a costly price, so we would greatly appreciate any and all help we can receive to get this film to grow!
