Help the Miyamou Family
Greetings of peace to you.
The Rockford Refugee Support Program (RRSP) is a nonprofit organization striving to improve and empower the lives of newly arrived refugees and their families.
We provide them with the tools and skills necessary to transition into their new homes and communities.
RRSP is raising funds to help place the Miyamou family in a clean and safe living environment.
The 6 member family has traveled for over two months from The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and reached Rockford 2 weeks ago. Their journey took them through Brazil, Cuba, and Mexico before ultimately bringing them to Chicago and then Rockford.
It is time to help the family get settled in a home that is clean, comfortable, and provides a refuge.
The family includes the mother, father, a 16-year-old daughter, and 10 and 7-year-old boys. Their cousin is also with them.
This fund will secure two months' rent for the family while they get settled and find long-term jobs.
The family is eager to begin giving back to the Rockford community that has welcomed them.
Please consider giving to help this family get on their feet and start their journey as Rockfordians.
Thank you.
"A refugee is someone who survived and who can create the future."
