Help the Morales Johnsons After the Eaton Wildfire

Donation protected

My dear, life-long friend, Crystal, her dedicated husband Aaron, and their wonderful twin daughters, Jaz, and Sol (along with three pets) have suffered a devastating, life altering loss.

Their home and all personal items were destroyed in LA County’s Eaton wildfire, which has leveled their village of Altadena. We’re beyond relieved that their lives were spared, but they’re now left with the task of starting over. The family had been going through some dramatic health, financial, and personal hardships leading up to this disaster, but some things were stabilizing, and the twins were poised to attend college next fall. That priority, like everything else for them now, is up in the air.

For those who don’t know them well, the Morales Johnsons stand out for their generosity, warmth, hard work, and determination. Were it not for the loss of Crystal’s job a year ago, she would be contributing to victims of the fire, versus being on the receiving end. Despite humble beginnings and ongoing travails, they built a beautiful family and have always managed to open their home and offer a helping hand to people and a “zoo” of animals. Their extra bedroom was usually occupied by someone in need of support. Now that home, so welcoming to so many, is gone, and they are the ones in need of our generosity and support. The world needs the special light they shine; let’s help them keep it lit.

With this fundraiser, we hope to get them back on their feet. Of primary importance to them is enabling their girls’ college plans, now in jeopardy, to go forward this August. Both girls are hardworking, thoughtful, intelligent, and kind—they’ve been through enough.

Any amount contributed will help--it takes a village.

Please join us in showing your care in their moment of need, with a donation, and by sharing this link widely on social media, messaging groups, listservs, and any other networks, to reach as many kind souls as possible.

Sending sincerest thanks from the bottom of my heart.
The trauma is there, but we can help ease it.
