Help The Morrisons After California Wildfire Destroyed Home

Hello, our names are Noel and Rayna, and just one day ago, our good friend Sydney Morrison's house was devastatingly engulfed and destroyed by the horrible Malibu Wildfires in California. Sydney, her mom Cathy, sister Moorea, and dog were forced to evacuate their beautiful Malibu home on January 7th as they saw the fires rolling in from their backyard. Little did they know that would be their last time standing on their back deck overlooking the beautiful mountains. Childhood memories and rooms are now just dust as you can see in the cover photo. We worked with Sydney as Event Operations Interns at the Breslin Student Events Center this past year and care deeply about our friend, as we saw the devastating and stressful impact multiple fires in her hometown have caused for her.

Sydney is a senior planning on graduating from Michigan State University this spring, but Michigan is far from home and her mom, who lived alone with their dog in the house. Sydney has one more semester at school and plans to fly back to Michigan to finish her classes and work at the Breslin Student Events Center where she is a Customer Service Supervisor next week. However, it will be hard for her to leave, as she knows there is much to do, much to help with, and she’ll be leaving a huge piece of her heart, family, and community behind in Malibu.
