Help the Munasinghe family in Sri Lanka
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I recently traveled to Sri Lanka in February this year. During my stay in Sri Lanka I had the pleasure of meeting the Munasinghe family. We met them at the train station and they invited us to dinner at their home. We immediately said yes. We went to their home that night and spent hours there. Singing & Dancing, playing manhunt, cooking together, playing soccer, eating good food & sharing conversations and smiles.
Sri Lanka is going through an economic crisis right now. The prices of goods are doubling overnight. Everyday is a struggle. There is food shortages, fuel shortages and very long power cuts. They’re spending their days waiting in queues and not being able to cook for their family.
With the various governmental issues in the country at the moment, people have been losing jobs, businesses are closing and there’s lack of work opportunities. The Munasinghe are a family of 5 (2 parents and 3 kids), and with the father being the only one working, there’s no opportunity for them to make ends meet.
I’m asking for 645$ Canadian which is 180 000 Sri Lankan rupees. This 645$ would cover their rent for 6 months. If we can help them in anyway possible so that they can spend their money on food and supplies to survive rather than worry about rent for 6 months.
Please donate if you can. Any support would be greatly appreciated!
