Help the Murray family after medical emergency

UPDATE #2 7/26 5pm
We’re almost half way everyone . Keep sharing!!!
Here’s the medical update:
Sitka’s Next test is on the 7th, it is a vas transcranial Doppler, an ultrasound of his neck and carotid artery. Next will be the MRI a month out from his TIA.
Moving forward they will watch his cholesterol and make some other dietary changes. Sitka already cut nicotine 100% cold Turkey, and we are all very impressed with his will power there. He will keep resting and no heavy lifting at least until the MRI tells us more. Hopefully the the coming tests will shed more light on why it happened at all.
Anjuli and kids are doing pretty well considering. They still need help for at least the next 6 weeks with twin play times during the day from 10-2pm. If you have a familiar connection with the family or nanny expertise anytime you want to volunteer reach out to Anjuli via text. Baby Violet is figuring out some nursing stuff, but Anjuli has had lots of support, and some of the funds raised here are helping with that. Meals and rest post birth are still helpful for Anjuli. Aidan JUST got a cast removed from a broken finger (including surgery and pins) and is getting back in his groove slowly but surely enjoy life without the limitations of a hard plaster cast! Ava is the queen of jump rope camps this summer and unbelievably competent at handling everything from logistics to skills with the kids she coaches…we are all so proud of her. Did we mention she also drives now? Considering this big scare the kids are doing pretty good.
Update #1 7/24 11pm
“Gobsmacked” is the word Anjuli uses to describe the speed and level of response she and her family have received less than 24 hours after making the tough decision to say yes to letting the go fund me page post live to the internet. Sitka and Anjuli are the “helpers” they’re not ones to ask for the big gestures, except a meal train after a baby or the nicu with the twins and this feels bigger somehow. They are just BLOWN over today by this love and support…keep it comin!
Let’s cover the august mortgage and then some. Let’s cover meals and childcare for august. Anjuli is wrecked (positively) most today by a breastmilk donation from a dear mamma friend of ours who’s sweet baby just passed away, but his milk is still here blessing Violet!? What kind of amazing love is that people!?
Last night Sitka sat in the hallway at Swedish Hospital for hours and hours waiting for a room and for many scary tests for stroke symptoms (eerily just months after the death of his young best friend Larry Anderson) while Anjuli— stuck at home noted flashes of that horrible horrible idea—do I have to think about this? Is this a thing? I’ll never forget her last text to me that night after we had talked not stop for hours waiting for answers from the doctors—after she put the 2 year old twins to bed alone. The 3 dogs to bed alone. The teens alone.
Baby Violet nursing hours and hours alone… slill bleeding from birth 2 weeks ago alone…
“I’m shot to bits”
She was. And she is. BUT….My sister is a goddess and she married a warrior. The man is tough as nails and he is strong as the tree he is named for, and you just watch them rise….It’s a thing of beauty—this is only the beginning of their Phoenix tale it’s about to get really really good.
Thanks for being part of it loves.
If you’d like to give directly to Anjuli via Venmo or Zelle you can Venmo: @AnjuliMurray or DM her or Breanna Winslow. ALL GoFundMe funds go immediately to the Murray family. THANK you!!!
Original Story:
We all know the Murray family as the most fun and energetic family on the block, and Sitka is our energizer bunny—but on Saturday night just 2 weeks after his tiny baby daughter Violet came home from being born, he was brought to the hospital with stroke symptoms.
Sitka is home now after being admitted over night with about 5,256 tests. The Doctors say he had a micro stroke and are treating him accordingly. The trick is that he is not allowed to lift their 2.5 year old twins for at least ONE MONTH. Or do most house work (and that is nearly impossible). They are still working out what he can and can’t do for his regular job. Anjuli was already totally maxed out being a new mamma again and very very tired.
Can we rally as a community and help the Murray family cover some income, professional childcare, housecleaning, and meals so they are not so overwhelmed during this recovery process?
If you can’t send money to help, please do send meals, or come hold a twin or maybe walk a puppy around the block! It takes a village! Thanks all! This family brings so much joy let’s remind them joy is all around them even when life gets scary!
