Hello, my name is Ahmed, and I am fundraising for my friend Siraj's family in Gaza.

My friend’s family in Gaza was living a life filled with success and achievement. They owned one of the largest luxury furniture companies in Palestine, with their exquisite products gracing many upscale homes across the country. They had a grand, luxurious furniture showroom—a testament to years of hard work and ambition.

But in one tragic moment, their lives were turned upside down...

What Happened?

Total Destruction: In the midst of the recent and ongoing war that has ravaged Gaza, the family literally lost everything. Their furniture factory was completely destroyed, their beautiful showroom was reduced to rubble, and even their home, once a safe haven, is now only a memory after being completely demolished. Today, this family, once a symbol of success, is homeless and displaced, residing in refugee shelters in southern Gaza. To make matters worse, unprecedented inflation and soaring prices have drained their savings, which they now use simply to survive in this harsh reality.

This is what my friend Siraj says about his family:

"My name is Siraj Mahmoud Mushtaha, a medical student at Zagazig University in Egypt. I moved to Egypt in 2019 to continue my studies and realize my dream—and my family’s dream—of becoming a doctor, not only for my ambition and my family’s aspirations but also to serve my country with my medical skills.

With the onset of the war, my family’s situation in Gaza deteriorated day by day, and communication between us became extremely difficult. I was deeply concerned for their safety, and these circumstances fueled my determination to succeed so that one day, I could help them and support my country with all I have learned.

As a medical student, I found myself torn between focusing on my studies and constantly worrying about my family. Countless nights passed sleeplessly, thinking of them and feeling helpless to protect them. But this ordeal only strengthened my resolve, driving me to persevere—not only for

my future but for the future of my family and the homeland I hope to serve one day with everything I’ve learned."

Here is a message from his family:

"Hello, kind world, this is our story.

When the war began, we were preparing to achieve even more. But in one instant, our lives were transformed from success to catastrophe. Our large factory, which employed dozens of workers, was completely destroyed. Our furniture showroom, filled with the latest and most luxurious modern and classic designs, is now under rubble. Even our warm, beautiful home, which was always a source of comfort and safety, was not spared from destruction.

Today, we are displaced, living in harsh conditions in shelters in southern Gaza, like thousands of other families whose lives have been destroyed by the war. What breaks our hearts most is that we were on the brink of achieving even more, but the war left us with no chance to continue our journey without support from others.
