Help The Myatt Family Rebuild
Donation protected
Thank you for reading this. I am raising money for my family to help rebuild our home and get our lives back to normal.
The Back Story
On Sunday, January 26th at 2:20 am, a driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into my car and our home. Luckily, Carlton had just finished playing his video game and left the living room where the car crashed into. Our fur babies made it out unscathed, two Great Danes (Gaia & Ramesses) and two cats (Calypso & Captain Barbossa), three of which are rescues. We are grateful that no one was seriously injured!

This is not the first time a car has damaged the house but it is significantly worse than the November 2018 accident.

The Loss
The list of damages is extensive to our home and property. The living room and office took most of the damage. The car pushed in the walls and the front end of the car was inside our home. It was heartbreaking to see our property in disarray and sentimental items broken that cannot be replaced. We also had two cars damaged, one of them being a total loss. The list continues to grow as we discover the true extent of the damage.
The Hits Keep On Coming
On Tuesday, January 28th, the driver's insurance called us and let us know he was under-insured. The accident is now our problem and we have to file claims with our insurance.
The structural damage to our home is not completely revealed and we have to wait for an engineer to come out and assess how much damage is hiding behind the walls.
How Your Donations Will Help Us
We are using the funds to offset the deductibles and cover what the insurance cannot. The hidden expenses are starting to add up. Things like purchasing a car, the rental car, extra heaters for our home, time missed from work, a large electric bill, and others that keep popping up as we negotiate through this mess.
We will donate any funds that we do not use to the American Red Cross.
Anything helps, even if you can’t donate please share the story with your friends and families so that others can be made aware of the situation.
