Help The New Inn and Lewis and Zoe !!!

Hi my name is Danielle and I’m trying to help raise money for the New Inn in Sidley.

every penny counts. To help with their bills and the bills of the pub.

So, an update so far is..

Unfortunately we are closed for the foreseeable future with no date or timeframe of closure clear at present.

We’ve let everyone know who was booked In For Xmas day and made refunds of deposits and again I sincerely apologise to all of you who were looking forward to Xmas with us and we hope you can find somewhere else (even tho it won’t be as good ❤️)

We are absolutely devastated at the minute, we’re a bit lost among everything else

And to be completely honest, with the bills not stopping but no ‘loss of business interruption’ insurance included,

it will be a struggle for us personally to come back, if at all, just all depends on how long we are closed.

We have not been allowed in to do anything until a structural engineer can get to us to assess the damage to the roof itself, and with it all being a grade 2 listed building aswell, it will certainly be a long drawn out process!

The best news we can hope for is that the Structural engineer will come out ASAP, and say there is no major damage to the roof and we can get cracking on at least getting some of the pub open for drinks at least.

I say ‘WE’ can get cracking, but unfortunately it is all down to the brewery, because of insurances and legal politics I’m not allowed to get involved with the building works so it’s all going to take time, time that we don’t financially have because every week it’s £1000-£1500 added to the debt we will accumulate…and that’s without our other bills outside of the pub!

The good news is that you will all get the pub back at some point, I’m very hopeful of that (as long as the roof isn’t completely destroyed which I’m sure it isn’t)

but whether this come back is with us in our role, depends on the time frames involved.

And as I say, The main thing surrounding this is all dependant on what the structural engineer says!!

With us, Everything will be sold, car goes back soon and I’ll do what I can to stick around but it is all a very unsure time at present.

I guess we can certainly put to bed that I’m ‘minted’ that people seemed to think, I’ve poured absolutely everything in to, and back in to, the rundown pub it was.

I really don’t think the majority of people have any idea of breakeven costs in this game and they would shock you, BUT, I assure you I will be sticking around and pushing this as much as I can and for as long as I can.

Me personally, I’ve been at rock bottom before, for a long time, so I know the only way is up and I also know that there are a lot more people worse off than us and even fighting for their lives so this is nothing compared to those strong proper fighters..

Hopefully we will be back as soon as possible.

Lewis and Zoe have poured their heart and soul into creating a community hub in Sidley at the New Inn and a Pub for everyone to enjoy and feel safe and comfortable in.

They have put blood sweat and tears into making the best they can of the new Inn from refurbishing the whole pub, brand new menus and food to fun family friendly nights out.

All of this got taken in a flash last night. When a faulty tumber dryer in the upstairs flats caught fire. It has ruined the flats and the pubs kitchen.

Repairs are not going to be cheap if you can spare even £1 that will help. Get the pub back up and running.
