We are Stephen & Edwin of the Nosh Box, and we need YOU to help us over the finish line!
The Nosh Box is a coffee, wine, and snack bar opening up in San Francisco's SoMa-West, a neighborhood home to the LGBTQA+ Leather Cultural District and the nightlife district. Starting in January with delicious pastry boxes, we found a home in SoMa at 1116 Folsom, former home to Terroir and Sluts Wine Bar. Updating the bones of the space has been an honor, and we've been doing the initial clean-up, painting, and refurbishment on sweat equity and our own labor (plus our initial start-up capital). We're workin' hard for the dream.
But as with any business operating in San Francisco, this also takes money, and in updating a physical space to new code, we have a couple of hurdles we need to overcome in funding to make sure our space is safe, secure, and ready for our community to join us here.
Our initial ask of 50k assists us with the following -
- 20k for updating plumbing for our espresso set up
- 15k for remapping & routing of electrics
- 15k for expanding our staffing capacity
If we exceed our initial ask, funding will be going towards benefits for our staff so we can more comprehensively take care of our people beyond the basics.
- If we hit 60k, that allows us to offer better insurance & benefits for our team members
- If we hit 70k, that allows us to bring in more LGBTQ+ vendors & partners
- If we hit 80k+, that gives us additional runway for the want to haves on top of the need to haves!
The Nosh Box looks to be a pillar of the SoMA West and LGBTQ+ Community here in San Francsico. As an all day cafe providing sustenance for the body-ody and soul, we are excited to bring this space to the neighborhood!
As a thank you for your contribution, we will be offering up some rewards for your assistance! We will track these as donations come through, and reach out for delivery when we finalize the GoFundMe!
