Help an incredible orphanage with food storage!
Donation protected
Hello friends and family,
I have had the privilege of volunteering at the orphanage Fundación Maria de la Esperanza in Santa Elena, Ecuador over the past four months. It is an incredibly loving place that turns no child in need away. They rely heavily on donations to keep the place going (the government only provides $4 a day for up to 40 kids and when there are economic problems these funds are cut, they currently care for 74 kids).
I have gotten to lead a weekly art group there with 17 of the girls ages 7-17 and help with the ten toddlers and infants on Saturday afternoons. They need funds to install flooring in their walk-in fridge and freezer. The quote from the engineers for this project is $4,529.00. This kitchen produces all of the meals for the 74 children, missionaries who care for them, and daily staff feeding about 120 people a day. This project will greatly improve their perishable food storage and conserve energy to reduce overall costs. The current conditions of the floors are pictured here. If we exceed our goal, any extra funds will go to maintenance needs and art supplies for the kids.
For some of the children's stories and to learn more about this place you can check out this website by a couple from Holland who has created one of the non-profits that support them and is currently completing a new dormitory for the ever-growing number of kids there: https://mjmecuador.com/gallery/
