Help the people affected by typhoon Odette

Hi, we are Alma and Rod Smith and we are here in Getafe, Bohol, Philippines during typhoon Odette. We suffered so many losses. Our house destroyed, whole roof is gone, but we are lucky to be alive. However, what we have lost is nothing compared to what our neighbors have lost, considering they were already in financial turmoil even before this super typhoon happened. We’d like to help the people, but due to our current situation, it’s hard to help everybody. So, Rod and I decided to start a fundraising to help us and the people in Getafe Bohol rebuild our homes that were damaged by typhoon Odette.

Right now, over 67,000 families lost their homes in the province of Bohol. Some of them even lost their lives or their loved ones. The whole province is left without electricity, a roof over their head, clean drinking water, and some have no food. There's even a shortage of gas and gasoline. We have never seen anything like this before, let alone encounter a super typhoon. I know there’s worse situations than this, but at this moment, after that super typhoon, we consider this one the worse that we personally experienced. The people of Bohol need help because the government is so slow to help. They will be lucky to even receive help from them if any. But we know we can’t help everyone. So, we are hoping that this fundraising will help not only us, but also the people in our neighborhood that are badly affected. The people of this island badly need generators too. 

Christmas is also right around the corner and we are hoping we can at least help them have a happy Christmas despite what happened.
