Though they are profoundly grateful to have escaped with their lives, the reality of losing everything they owned is overwhelming. Their home—filled with the memories and comforts they built together as a family—is gone, leaving them with only the clothes on their backs. Now, Jay, his wife, and their three children—two teenagers and a young 5-year-old—are beginning the daunting journey to rebuild from scratch.

This fundraiser was created by Chuck and Becki Hutchison, close friends who have known the Pijuts for decades. Chuck has been Jay’s best friend since they were just 15, and he and Becki have stood by the family through thick and thin.
