Help the Piontkowskis Rebuild after Tropical Storm Helene
Donation protected
We are so grateful to be safe and like many people in our beloved community of Western North Carolina, our family home in Asheville was damaged during the storm. A tree crashed through our roof, our retaining wall failed, and the foundation was damaged, leading to severe flooding on the first floor. Unfortunately, our homeowner’s insurance will only cover damage to the roof caused by the tree. Along with structural damage, many of our personal items could not be salvaged and are not covered by insurance.
As you may know, the widespread damage has created an overwhelming need for repairs, building materials, expertise, and labor, which has made it challenging to secure assistance quickly. Despite being fully insured, and every effort on our end, we are facing significant costs to make our home safe and functional again. We also need to find a rental while our home undergoes a substantial renovation.
Any monetary contributions received will go directly toward:
Roof, retaining wall, and foundation repairs; first floor flood repair and restoration; replacement of essential personal items/appliances.
So many people have reached out to ask how they can help; we are truly overwhelmed by the support. Many families and communities are struggling to rebuild after Helene, and we are deeply grateful for our “Village.” #AVLStrong #WNCStrong #HurricaneHelene
With immense gratitude,
