Help the Plumhoff Family

On Monday, we head back to Mayo for surgery to place a metal rod in Matt's arm to stabilize the humerus bone, which is very fragile due to cancer lesions. He's expected to be in Rochester for at least five days. After that, Matt will begin medication and immunotherapy treatments with his local doctors in St. Cloud. 

While we're still digesting all of this, we realize there will be financial implications one is never really prepared for. Luckily, we have good health insurance, but we still expect to have extensive bills that insurance doesn't cover. Our immediate need is for assistance with travel. Matt will be out of work for the foreseeable future, and my paid leave will run out during this next week at Mayo. Losing both of our incomes while also incurring travel costs (gas, hotels, food etc) is very scary. Meanwhile we have three amazing and very active kids who need babysitters and rides to their many sports and activities. We are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by family, friends and neighbors who have already helped so much with the day-to-day. It pains us both to ask for donations, but overnight, everything changed, and here we are.
