My wife Tammy is very ill. She has severe muscle weekness in her arms, legs and throat and sometimes completely looses the use of her arms or legs and the ability to swallow. She also has difficulty breathing alot of the time. This has confined her to using a walker or wheel chair or staying in bed.
We have been to many doctors here in Dover, in Christiana and have recently been to Johns Hopkins. We still do not have a diagnosis for what is causing the problem but we are hopeful that Hopkins will be able to figure it out.
We are a family of five with a single income that is not able to keep up with the medical bills. Tammy has applied for disability due to this illness but was denied because she stayed home to raise our kids and does not have enough work credits. I have to take her to all her apointments because she has lost the ability to drive and do most tasks on her own. With all the co-pays, travel expenses and medical bills coming in and my having to start taking unpaid leave at work because I have no more sick or vacation time, we are financailly unable to pay the bills. Unfortunately we don't know where this is going and we can only pray that there is a diagnosis soon with a good prognosis.
For any of you that know Tammy, you know how full of life and love she has always been. To see such a strong person deteriorate so quickly has been heartbreaking for me and our three boys. She certainly has not stopped fighting and I am thankful for that stubburness she has.

I have never been one to ask for help but in this situation I find myself with no choice. I am greatly appreciative of any help you can give.
Thank you,
Dan Pope and family
