My name is Zach Powers and I'm here to raise money for my mother in lieu of my late father, Bill Powers. A man gifted with the largest heart I have ever known. A man who had shown love and compassion stronger than anyone I will ever meet. And a man who I could never imagine living without. My mother and father had been married for 25 years, they gave me everything I have and made into the person I am today. It came as a complete shock to the entire family when we learned my father chose to take his own life and now we are in need of serious help. Something we have been to proud to ask for in the past. Hubris will no longer stop me from aiding my mother.
My mother earned her education to better the family 8 years ago and is still paying off her student loans. She chose to earn her degree in accounting when I was still in elementary school and after 7 long years she accomplished that goal. With the passing of my father, my mother cannot maintain her way of life without help. My goal is to raise $20,000 to pay off the remainder of my mother's student loans so she may have a better chance at continuing life in a way she deserves. The heavy debt left solely to my mother after my father's passing is not something I can help her with alone. Let me be clear, $20,000 is the goal I could only dream of achieving, as the loans are roughly $600 every month, meaning every little bit will help out.
I am currently starting my final semester in college for a degree in History and Education so I may become a High School Teacher. My brother is earning his degree from the School of Mines in South Dakota. He is also nearing completion. Donating to the family means we can tackle one of the biggest pieces of debt which will keep my mother from being able to maintain her way of life.
All that me and my brother have left in this world is our mother. We would do anything for her and that's why I am here. Help us help my mom.

Helping with finances/debts: $5,000 total

Loans: ~$20,000 ($600monthly) our final goal with ensure my mother's stability
