Help the Presley family through Nick's recovery
Donation protected
If you're reading this, you probably know us. But if not, here's the short version - Nick and I met 14 years ago when he was in the Marines. We now have four fantastic kids; Travis who is a junior in high school, Livie who is in middle school, Zack who is in 5th grade, and Emmalyn who is 2. Nick works as a juvelnile detention officer for the county and I work at a public charter school for at-risk youth. Recently, Nick was at a jiu-jitsu class and severely broke his right ankle. Two bones were broken and a tendon was torn. He underwent surgery on 12/7 and is now recovering with 10 screws, a metal plate and an artificial tendon in his ankle. He will not be able to put any weight on his ankle for 3 months and won't be able to drive for awhile longer than that.
The hardship for us is that Nick doesn't have enough vacation/sick time to cover the time he'll have to be out of work, and unfortunately he is one month shy of being able to have vacation days donated to him by other county employees. Additionally, as I am an hourly employee at a school, my hours are already less during the holidays and now I have to stay home anytime Emmalyn is sick (rather than Nick and I taking turns staying home), further lessening my overall hours.
We are humbly asking for any spare change that our friends and loved ones can share to help get us through the coming months. This isn't an easy ask, but has become a necessary one. Thank you so very much, from all of us at the Presley house.
