Marty Purdy is fighting cancer

Wanted to give my friends an update on where we are today in my husband’s cancer journey, which is at the last treatment method that he can undergo. The treatment is called CAR-T cell therapy with a product called Kymriah. This therapy is his last try for remission. If this treatment fails he will move to palliative care. He has just completed whole brain radiation therapy at 30 gy in 15 sessions, while waiting for the CAR-T to start. He will begin the CAR-T chemotherapy and will undergo the CAR-T cell infusion therapy. This treatment is very dangerous, but his only choice. There is high likelihood of hospitalization and even ICU. The first two weeks will be critical for extreme side effects watch, along with close daily watch at the hospital for 30 days after, then every other day until 60 days. He will be outpatient; we will drive in every day for a 6-hour infusion of correction fluids every day. There they will closely monitor him each day and admit if necessary. After the 60-day window we can hopefully relax to just a few days a week. Thank you for being there for us. ❤️

We got some very sad news! Marty started his treatment and unfortunately, his cancer has already metastasized. Julie, can’t even be there at the hospital to comfort him. Nobody should have to go through this alone! I know times are tough for people right now, but any contribution is appreciated!! God bless you both!! God bless those helping them out!! ❤

Any little bit will help this wonderful family during this very difficult time. Please share on your page to get more exposure since we all may not know each other.
