Help the Pyrenees Rescue of WNC Animal Hospital Bill
Tax deductible
I'm raising money to benefit Pyrenees Rescue of Western NC, a 501(c)3 donation only based nonprofit rescue, any donation helps! The Pyrenees Rescue of Western NC: rescues Great Pyrenees dogs across NC, SC, Tn. and Va. We spay/neuter and provide Vet care. We have successfully rescued and adopted out over 1000 Great Pyrenees in the past 9 years.
This fundraiser is for a stray Great Pyrenees who was hit by a car on May 27th. She is currently in an animal hospital needing orthopedic surgery for her broken right rear femur. The rescue had been trying to catch this stray, who is very skittish, since early April, soon it became clear she had puppies, and they could not be located due to a torrential tain, the mama hiding in woods, was heard by an owner of a house nearby, barking constantly, after investigating she was found to be running around in circles hysterically barking. The owner of the nearby home observed a collapsed den with water in it underneath some tree roots washed out from the storm. A rescue operation commenced where the puppies, wet, cold, and shivering were dug out of the den. Luckily all 7 were rescued and alive. They were fat, no fleas, scabies, or ringworm. Mama had taken good care of them. It was determined they were 5 or 6 weeks old. The mama could not be caught again. Even after traps said and coaxing using her puppies. We still tried to catch her until May 27th when the same neighbor notified us they thought she had been hit by a car. We were able to go get her, she allowed the rescue director to pick her up and put her in the vehicle where she was rushed to the animal hospital an hour away. Turns out she is very sweet. The initial surgery estimate is $2800 which does not include the boarding, and aftercare nor the finally bill nor medications or after are. We will not give up on this girl. Please help us save her by getting the funding to pay the vet bill ! Thank you so much!!! All the puppies are safe, well cared for, very chubby, and happily thriving. There are great cost for the care of them as well.
