Please, Let's Help The Rathburn (Mahar) Family

On behalf of my sister Stacey….I am creating this fundraiser to help Stacey and her children navigate through some very tough times ahead. Her 16 year old son, my nephew Daniel was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's-Lymphoma-Stage 4 after Thanksgiving at Albany Med Pediatric ER when admitted with a severe case of RSV. Stacey is a single mother to Dan, his younger brother Michael and older sister Carli. Stacey works full time and also a second part time night job with the school district to support her family when this devastating news was confirmed.

Dan is now entering his 2nd week of chemo with several months of treatment anticipated, likely to also include radiation therapy. The 40 mile round trip to the hospital can be a 4 day a week demand while she juggles this with her work schedule and the needs of her children.

While Dan is dealing with significant weight loss and effects from the treatment he is unable to attend school and has begun virtual education from home. He was also looking very much forward to enjoying winter, his favorite sport season. Yet, through this emotional and turbulent time with the strength of his family he remains positive and focused on getting better and staying as healthy as he can.

This being said, the unanticipated out of pocket medical, transportation and dietary nutritional expenses now loom large. What is certain however, is how much your outpouring of love and support to this family will mean to them in this time of need. This is a loving, hard working and proud family that doesn't ask for help. Their need now is real, and it is for this reason that I humbly ask for your generosity and help.
