I'm Niveen, Nadeen's friend and doing this fundraiser on behalf of Nadeen to help her and the remaining individuals of her family evacuate Gaza's war.

“Hello everyone,

I am Nadeen Aldahshan. I’m 21 years old. My family and I live in Gaza City. We were a family of 7. During the current genocide in Gaza, we were forced to flee our home to another area to stay at our relatives’ house.

On 20-11-2023, my mother, Heba, my father, Hayel, and my eldest sister, Nada, had to go back to get clothes and food from our house. But they never came back. On their way there, an Israeli warplane targeted and killed them. I was waiting for them, and still am.

With a sinking heart, I lost my parents and sister, Nada. At the age of 21, I found myself placed into a role I never expected – to be solely responsible for my younger siblings, Kareem, 16, Aya, 15, and Wasim, 13, amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Following the martyrdom of my parents and older sister, my siblings and I did not have any other choice but to go back to our house, to find it partially destroyed too. An Israeli tank targeted our home; the kitchen, the bathroom and the living room were destroyed. We only have our bedrooms now, and I managed to fix a corner of the kitchen to cook and feed my siblings. Our once warm and welcoming home now stands as a painful reminder of loss and destruction.

Prior to the war, I was studying Law at the Palestine University, and this year, 2024, was supposed to be my final year. Kareem and Aya were in high school, and Wasim was in middle school. Both the university I attended and my siblings' schools were destroyed by the Israeli bombardment. As a result, we are unable to continue our education.

The situation is unbearable now, as we are still living in Gaza City, in the north of the Gaza Strip, with very minimal access to clean water and proper food. I constantly have a fear of losing the rest of my family, whether to bombardment or starvation, As well as the massive responsibility of taking care of everyone.

My grandfather, Mohammed, a 72-year-old man suffering from heart disease, miraculously survived a bombardment at their house with minimal injuries. Due to financial hardships, he was unable to evacuate Gaza alongside his wife, who was permitted to leave Gaza to receive medical treatment for cancer. Tragically, my grandfather not only lost his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter in this war but is also now displaced in the South of the Gaza Strip, enduring the horrors of war alone with the constant concern of the cancer treatment of his beloved partner. Therefore, our plan is not to leave him all alone and take care of him as he accompanies us to Egypt.

My aunt in Egypt has kindly offered, after we secure a safe exit from Gaza, to support our attempts to find a place to live and schools to resume our education. Thus, we need all the support we can get to help us evacuate to safety in Egypt and to give us another chance at life and to pursue our dreams.

أنا نادين الدهشان، عمري 21 سنة، من غزة. قبل الحرب كنّا عائلة من 7 أفراد، ومع الحرب صرنا 4.

في 20-11-2023 كنّا نازحين على بيت أقاربنا في شمال غزة، ونقص علينا أكل وملابس فاضطروا والدي هايل الدهشان ووالدتي هبة الخضري وأختي الكبيرة ندا الدهشان أنهم يروحوا يجيبوا الأساسيات من البيت. وهم بالطريق لهناك انقصفوا واستشهدوا. ومن وقتها ما رجعوا. ومن وقتها وأنا بستناهم.

على عمر ال21، استشهدوا أمي وأبي وأختي الكبيرة وتركوا لي مسؤولية ما توقعت أضطر أعيشها بحياتي كلها، مسؤولية أخوتي وسيم 13 سنة، وآية 15 سنة، وكريم 16 سنة.

بعد فترة اضطرينا نرجع على بيتنا المدمر لأنه ما بقي مكان بنقدر نروحه، اضطريت آخذ إخوتي ونرجع على بيتنا المستهدف بقذائف دبابة. الحمام مدمر، الصالون مدمر، والمطبخ مدمر وبالعافية قدرت استصلح منه زاوية أقدر أطبخ فيها وأطعمي أخوتي.

بيتنا الحلو الدافي اللي كان بيجمعنا احنا ال7، الآن شبه مدمر وكله ذكريات قاسية.

قبل الحرب كنت بدرس قانون في جامعة فلسطين، وكريم وآية كانوا بالمدرسة الثانوية، ووسيم كان بالاعدادية. خلال الحرب تدمرت جامعتي ومدارسهم وانحرمنا نكمل تعليمنا زي ما انحرمنا من باقي عيلتنا.

نحن الآن في شمال غزة، بنعاني كل يوم عشان نوفر أقل القليل من الأكل والمياه، الشحيح والملوث أصلا، بالإضافة للرعب الدائم من فقدان باقي عائلتي وسط القصف والمرض والتجويع وباقي الظروف الصعبة. المسؤولية ضخمة والحزن طاغي على كل شيء.

جدي محمد والد أمي الله يرحمها، مريض قلب وعمره 72 سنة، نجى بأعجوبة من قصف مباشر على بيتهم في غزة، والآن نازح في الجنوب لوحده، لأنه ما قدر يرافق جدتي في سفرها خارج القطاع لتلقي العلاج لأنها مريضة سرطان بسبب الظروف المادية. جدي فقد بنته وزوجها وحفيدته، والآن نازح بعيد عن بيته، وبيعيش كل أهوال الحرب لوحده. لذلك جدي رح يسافر ويعيش معنا في مصر.

أنا على تواصل مع خالتي المقيمة في مصر، وهي مستعدة تساعدني في رعاية أخوتي، بس نحن بحاجة مساعدتكم لتأمين خروجنا مع جدي إلى مصر ومساعدتنا في بناء حياة جديدة هناك، لنبدأ من جديد ونكمل تعليمنا وحياتنا.
