Help the Reynolds Reybots get to 2025 World Championships!

We are the Reynolds Reybots, a FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics team from Victoria, B.C. This year we competed in provincials where we had many technical difficulties and some bad luck. Despite an all-nighter by team members and a few dedicated parents we did not do as well at provincials as we had hoped. HOWEVER, we are beyond proud to announce that we did win a spot at Worlds, this time in a different way, and one which we are most proud of!

With our hard work in building a very innovative robot, creating our best ever engineering portfolio and doing significant outreach in the community, the Reybots were recognized for their overall accomplishments and received the Inspire Award! This award is the top overall award and the highest honour in FIRST robotics.

“This judged award is given to the team that best embodies the ‘challenge’ of the FIRST Tech Challenge program. The team that receives this award is a strong ambassador for FIRST programs and a role model FIRST team. This team is a top contender for many other judged awards and is a gracious competitor. The Inspire Award winner is an inspiration to other teams, acting with Gracious Professionalism® both on and off the playing field. This team shares their experiences, enthusiasm and knowledge with other teams, sponsors, their community, and the judges. Working as a unit, this team will have shown success in performing the task of designing and building a robot.”

On top of this award our Grade 11 Build and Design Team Lead won a Dean’s List Provincial Finalist Award. “The students who earn FIRST Dean’s List Award status are outstanding passionate student leaders who demonstrate exemplary effectiveness at attaining FIRST ideals. They were nominated by their teams for their direct contributions and impact on others – exemplifying leadership and commitment, on the team and in their community.”

Overall despite a tough competition our whole team has so much to celebrate. Our junior team, the Reynolds Raider exceeded all hopes, dreams, and expectations for the season by not just qualifying for Provincials but also making the playoffs as the 6th Alliance Captain, with the 4th best auto score.

All of our junior and senior members will be invited to join the trip to Worlds. The cost of the trip is approximately $2,500 per person which will be a financial barrier for many of us. We would really like for everyone on our team to be able to share this experience. We are asking for your help to make this happen.

If you are not able to donate you can still help! Please share this fundraising page with your friends, family, colleagues and any businesses you think may like to support us.

We are so proud of our team and our community and we look forward to representing our school, our community and Canada at this international event.

The Reynolds Reybots thank you for your support!
