Help the Rocco family during this devastating time

My name is Nick and on behalf of the Rocco’s I’ve decided to create this donation in  an effort to alleviate the cost related to funeral and other expenses.

 

Paul and Laurie are the parents to two sets of twins, Colby and Vincent as well as Cecilia and Miranda. I have been their brother-in-law and uncle for going on 15 years. This family has always welcomed me with open arms and now it’s time to try and help them.

 

Christmas day was like every year past. The Rocco’s came over to our family home and we had dinner with many laughs just like it’s always been. This year, how ever, did not end like every other year. Paul and Laurie had left our house and the kids stayed behind, since the boys can drive now, and played with my little ones creating memories. When it came time to leave we gave hugs and kisses as usual, not knowing the tragedy that would occur minuets later. Two miles down the road Colby, who was in the truck by himself, had a horrific accident taking his life and a bright beautiful future away in an instant. Hearing a brother or sisters sadness is troubling to say the least, but hearing a parents emotions let out unfiltered is absolutely gut wrenching. I’ve watched Colby grow up from a small child and I was devastated, I couldn’t imagine how his family felt. A parents worst nightmare had come to life that night.

Normal thoughts, emotions and questions came to mind: why him? Why now? He didn’t deserve this!

These questions, relevant in any death, hit extremely hard with Colby. He had just told us all he enlisted in the Navy and was leaving mid January. I’ve personally never seen him so excited and ready to begin his life, also the pride in his parents faces was undeniable. Colby was an outstanding kid, his kindness, personality, respect and especially hard work set him aside from other 19 year olds. He yelled at his brother for letting me pick up a shovel while digging a trench in my yard, that’s the level of respect he showered for anyone considered his “elder”.

Colby’s parents, siblings, relatives and especially friends will always have a huge void in their heart that no one else could possibly fill.

 

So that’s why I’m here.  As any parent knows you never prepare for your child’s death. You hope, pray and cross every finger you go well before them. As the Rocco’s have helped and been there for many of us, it is now our time, friends, family and even strangers, to help them. All donations will go directly to the parents of Colby to help alleviate any cost they have obtained due to this devastating life altering situation.
