Help the Rojas family with Medical expenses

Hi my name is Alyssa, I'm Fundraising on behalf of my father and mother. On December 17, 2021 my father Armando was rushed to Ogden regional hospital. His Ammonia levels (blood count) was 190, he was unresponsive for a couple of days. They did a CT scan and found his small intestine was enlarged and paralyzed and his colon was obstructed. He also has a very severe stomach infection. The doctor told us he was too high of a risk to do surgery because he had a rare enlarged vein around his belly button that could make him bleed to death, so they wanted to wait and see if he can improve on his own.

So we waited a few days, he was improving little by little. On Christmas Eve he took a turn for the worst. Our only options at this point was to do emergency surgery or get him comfortable and let him pass away on his own. So the family got together on Christmas Eve and decided to do the surgery to give him a fighting chance! We spoke with my dad when he was improving and he said " do what ever it takes to keep me alive". December 24th he did the surgery, they removed part of his colon and part of His small intestines. It was about a 4 hour surgery. The surgeon had to stop for the day, they had a few complications. He still needed to have his bowels connected so they waited 2 days for the swelling to go down so they could finish the surgery.

On December 26th they finished the surgery, thankfully he pulled through! When he got out of surgery they put him on a ventilator for 2 days. When he finally woke up everything was looking good overall until last night December 29th, his oxygen was dropping too low, he had a fever, his heart rate was very high and one of his lungs weren’t working properly. They took him to get an X-ray and found out he has water in his lungs so now he is back on a ventilator and in the ICU. This is his current situation. Due to complications post surgery he is looking at a long road to recovery and is still fighting for his life.

My father is a fighter, he had 50% of his body burnt with 3rd degree burns from a kitchen fire on his birthday 25 years ago, he fell through a 2 story roof and broke his ribs 22 years ago, when he was 17 he rolled his convertible on the freeway and was lucky to be alive. Since then he’s had multiple surgeries. This man is as strong as they come! If you know my dad he has the biggest heart and love for everyone.

These past few weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster for my family. My mother hasn’t been able to work due to his severe condition and has been staying by his side the whole time! Every donation will go to medical bills and day to day bills to help my mother and father out. Anything and everything is greatly appreciated!
