Help the Salhoff Family after Fire
Donation protected
On Monday December 4th around 10:30pm, while on vacation visiting family 2,000+ miles away from home in Seattle, our Mom, Darlene Salhoff and Stepdad, Brent Salhoff, got a phone call no one wants to get from their daughter Mackenzie. “The house is on fire!!!” Accompanied by crying and screams of fear.
The next 24hrs were full of every emotion you can imagine as they booked last minute flights and driving from Detroit, MI to their home in Edinboro, PA. Preparing themselves for what they we're going to see when the got there.
We are so thankful Mackenzie, her boyfriend, and family dog Deisel were are able to get out safely.
The fire started in the detached garage and that is what took the brunt of this, burning completely to the ground. The house is livable but has some exterior damage. While insurance will help replace some things as you probably know it will never come close to replacing everything.
If you don't know Brent, the garage is his home, he has lost his home and everything he has worked so hard for. He has spent countless hours there working on vehicles for friends and family. Years and years of collecting tools and building from the ground up, piece by piece the truck of his dreams, a 1986 K20 Silverado Square Body.
Brent is the man we called and as adults still call today as soon as a light goes on in our car, we went in the ditch, hit a deer, or if we need to know how to repair anything in our homes, and never once has he said no. Brent would without hesitation give you the shirt off his back. I could go on and on about the kind hearted people our Mom and Brent are.
We understand this is a tough time to ask for donations but if you are able to help in anyway, it is truly appreciated. We thank you in advance for your kindness and help.
