Help the Samples with Alex's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
On Friday Alex was was admitted to Randall Children's Hospital in Portland with a burst appendix. He had a successful surgery Saturday but has an infection that will necessitate antibiotics for 2-3 weeks. At least some of that time the antibiotics will need to be administered via IV. The family is insured but have a high deductible and, like most of us, just don't have the means to pay for this sort of unexpected emergency. Compounding that is the time Lisa or Jason will need to take off work while Alex recovers.
His mom Lisa works in the cafeteria at Woodburn Elementary. Alex is in 8th grade at Liberty and a First Class Scout in Troop 562 in Camas, working hard to become a Star. His dad Jason is an Assistant Scoutmaster for our Troop and Lisa is the Outdoor Chair. Jason was the den leader for my son all through Cub Scouts and he and Lisa helped keep the pack running. Jason is a member of the American Legion, they volunteer in their Star Wars costumes to various causes, participate in living history events, Edwardian events all over the Portland area, Jason is the vice president of the Vancouver Barracks Military Association and he drives the WWI Ambulance in the Veteran's Parade in Vancouver. As you can see, the Samples are a very kind, generous, and giving family and can really use some help. Please spread the word and share this campaign!
All funds will go to pay the medical bills and any shortfall in living expenses if there is extended time off work required.
Thank you!
