Help the Savelyev’s Purchase a Car

A message from Marta and Adam:

Marta and I have started this GoFundMe to reach out to our friends, family, and extended network to help a Ukrainian family we sponsored as refugees to the US. They lived with us for about one month and now have found temporary short-term housing while they finalize the details of where their 9-year-old son will go to school. Andrey and Anna are gentle parents to a child with special needs. They are organized, hard-working, and committed to making the best of available opportunities, focusing on securing a safe future for their son. Through the process of becoming sponsors, Marta and I can vouch that the Savelyev's have the means to become successfully rooted as productive members of our society. Still, we can confirm they need the extra help we ask of you here. The housing market is tight, and even in our well-funded district, so are special education services. While they are confident they can secure housing, good education and healthcare for their son, Ilya, a well-running car to manage the many appointments they need to keep regarding Ilya and finding/maintaining employment is monumentally important. Their family will appreciate any donation toward a vehicle you can make in this inflated market.

A message from Andrey:

Good afternoon! We are a family from Ukraine. I am Andrey 37 old. My wife Anna is 38 years old and our son Ilya is 9 years old. I need to ask for help. We escaped from the war in Ukraine. Now we are in Boulder. Unfortunately, we faced with situation that we can’t resolve ourselves. We found that we can’t do almost anything here without car. Distance is too huge. I’m waiting for work permit therefore I can’t start to earn any money yet. I’m happy that it was possible to arrange work permit online. I hope to drive Taxi in the beginning. Also, I faced with huge prices for used cars in US. I didn’t really expect that price for used cars could be as big as it now. The problem is that the rest of money is flowing away together with cost of apartment. Also, my son requires medical support which is impossible to arrange without car. He has developmental disabilities. He has Autism, and Pandas syndrome.

We are family who calmly lived in Ukraine and always relied only on our own forces. But unfortunately, we can’t stay in Ukraine anymore. It’s extremally hard time for us. I really want to become trustworthy member of USA. With gratitude, today I need ask your donation which will really assist me to make a first step. I need to make a living for my family. Your support at this not easy time for my family is priceless for us.

All donated funds will go through Adam Perkins's bank account and then to the Savelyev family for the explicit purchase of a vehicle that meets their needs. The Savelyev's currently reside in Boulder, Colorado under refugee status with initial permissions to stay here for 2 years.
