Help the Scalzo Family
Some of the nicest people we have ever met, literally ever, have recently had a curve ball thrown their way (in addition to the current pandemic we are in). Help us, help one of the most deserving, loving, caring and giving families on the central coast.
Here is their story...
Tony Scalzo, owner and operator of Sparkle Janitorial and Maintenance, was forced to stop working, like most of us, in the middle of March 2020 when the pandemic hit the Central Coast. On April 20th, Tony found out he was able to go back to work under certain circumstances. Yay!! The very next day, on April 21st, the Scalzos found out that Tony has a mass on his kidney that was cancerous. It was devastating news to receive! It is never news you want to receive but the timing on top of that made the blow that much harder. He is scheduled for surgery on May 13th and will have to be out of work for at least 4-6 weeks for recovery since his job is so labor intensive. Tony doesn’t have a staff, he does it all alone and typically works 4-6 jobs a day! At this point, Tony will be out of work for almost 15 weeks! We can’t even imagine trying to come up with money to make up for that. Their family relies 100% on Tony’s income. They now have medical bills on top of being out of work for almost 4 months. How does one come back from that?
If you don’t know anything about this family, this is what you should know. Betsy and Tony have three beautiful children and two adorable grandchildren. They are an extremely close and loving family. When one suffers, they all suffer. That’s just how they work, and not just with their own family, but anyone they know. When someone they know is hurting or going through a tough time, the Scalzo family is the first one to be leaving care packages at your front door, cleaning your house or business for nothing, praying for you, reaching out everyday to see if you are doing okay, and showering you with love and support. For the first time since we have known them, they need our support more than anything right now. They are not ones to ever ask for help or a handout, ever! It’s just not who they are, they are the ones that help everyone else out!
If you could please help donate, it would make a huge difference in their lives. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page with everyone you know, in hopes someone you know might be able help out.
For every donation of $50 or more, Pardon My French Bakery will send you a gift card for $15.
Thank you for your consideration and your prayers! The Scalzo Family appreciates you all so much!
